The address that matters in Búzios

It all started in 1969, when Mirtha and Angelo Ronchi, at the time living in Patagonia, were invited by friends from Rio de Janeiro to spend a few days in Búzios.

It was love at first sight, a love that was kept like a dream for several years.

Angelo Ronchi, the patriarch, was an Argentine passionate about hospitality who had already dedicated himself to tourism in several cities in Argentina, when in 1977 an invitation to work in Rio de Janeiro came up.

Upon setting foot again on the untouched and charming peninsula, which became famous after the arrival of actress Brigitte Bardot, his passion came to the fore and he decided it was time to unite his experience in the hospitality industry with the love he felt for Búzios, and in the following years it acquired some magical properties around the city.

That’s when Vila d’este, an old rural house on a hill overlooking the sea, already renovated and transformed into one of the first inns in the peninsula, was born, a gift from the father to his daughter Bárbara, a link of shared passion.

What was once a simple house with stables in Armação dos Búzios was destined to become one of the most charming accommodation options and an icon of that Original Búzios.

The proposal has always been to keep alive that moment of discovery and enchantment, the pure essence of the fishing village, to provide guests with that unforgettable moment that feeds us to this day.

To accomplish this, the entire house was incorporated into the actual structure, which is now the main lobby, and the stables were transformed into rooms that are now part of the Classic category.

The vibrant green of Buziana’s nature and the simple and bucolic essence were kept as the roots of this story.

The hotel was built as a small relaxing refuge, which seeks to deliver an exclusive and personalized service. There are only 20 suites, carefully planned so that each guest can have a unique and unforgettable experience.

Búzios in the 70’s

A welcoming, plural village with a charming visual identity, Bárbara has collected the most beautiful pieces to make Vila d’este unique and spectacular, each object is the result of an experience and has a story, which is why the Vila is so unique.

The result of this meticulous process translates into a special, elegant and cozy setting. Walking through the hotel is like feeling at home and it is possible to notice the care in all its details.

At every point in that timeline, there’s a lot of love for the project. To this day, this is the feeling that moves the entire Vila team, motivating the daily pursuit of excellence.

The Vila today, with more than 30 years of history, is a member of the Roteiros de Charme Association and collects Travelers’ Choice: Best of the Best awards, by TripAdvisor. Recently, it also received the seal of the XO Private Association, an extremely relevant seal that qualifies luxury hotels around the globe. A romantic hotel, born out of love for Búzios. Therefore, the mission of Vila d’este is to present the charms of Búzios Original to all who visit it. That little town full of possibilities and magic that the Ronchi fell in love with.
